Adhira – Love: Lost and Found, a novel by Aditti Gaur, is published by Author Paradise Publishers. The cover is love at first sight. The wintry snow is romantic and at the same time carries an air of separation. It’s beautiful, appealing and heart-wrenching.

Read the author interview here: Aditti Gaur

Aditti Gaur has a past experience of working with a leading DTH company for almost 5-6 years. She started her career right after her schooling, just to become an independent individual. After completing her graduation, she quit her job as she felt that 9 to 6 job was something not meant for her and then she chooses her passion for writing & engaged herself in blogging on various sections like Love, Relationships, Lifestyle, etc. on her website www.adittigaur.com.
She was born in Delhi but her complete upbringing was in Meerut (Uttar Pradesh) and now she resides in Gurgaon. Adhira – Love: Lost and Found is her debut novel. Through this she wants to make her dream of becoming an author come true.

The blurb reads as, “Sometimes we handle everyone but can't cope up with ourselves, and get embroiled in things we wish to avoid.
Everyone's life has a turning point. For some, it changes the very core of who they are. Adhira had always been too good for a world that looked at her in a mixture of awe and exasperation. In the world of insecurities and loneliness, she strived to spread love. In the world focused on the self, she taught what it was to put others' needs before one's wants. One devastating piece of news shattered her perfect world, breaking down everything she had carefully built. Suddenly, there was so much to do and not enough time. The world around her crumbled, filled with betrayal and desertion. Will she ever be able to trust anyone again? Who could she trust? Why was she refusing to acknowledge the love that was presenting itself to her? Fierce warring between nursing the wounds of betrayal and opening herself to love again splits Adhira apart. Will she ever be able to love again? Come, travel with Adhira for a few turbulent chapters of her life, as she wades through love: lost and found.”

This is a story about Adhira who has an independent streak. However, she has to struggle hard to find one reason for living her life. In her journey to find that one reason, she encounters many people who influence her and in a way, affect their lives. Her soul sister and close friend, Riddhi calls her a heaven-sent angel in disguise.

The plot is fresh and interesting. Though the characterisation seems a little unrealistic, esp. of Adhira’s. Also the narrative was a little dull and lacked enough pace. The narrative should have been worked out in such a way so that it could have helped to define the characters better. Though the language is simple and easy to comprehend. I found the plot engaging. However, I do felt that editing could have been better!

Further, this 220-page book is a light read. How love, friendship and life come together and are interwoven is one of the many reasons why you will keep turning the pages to find out what happens in Adhira – Love: Lost and Found. The ending left me with a sigh—what a transformation!

As a debutant, Aditti Gaur has nailed it. However, the author should be careful regarding the narrative, typo errors and choosing the editor.

The book is highly recommended if you are looking for something light and mushy.
