Frustration Reloaded, as the title itself suggests is a brilliant story of a frustrated chartered accountant, Ayushi Shah, by the skillful author, Ankita Patil. Through this novel, she narrates her journey to reach the ultimate destination of chartered accountant, the ups and downs she went through, the number of attempts she took, the frustration at every step, etc. 

The narrative is good and the readers wouldn’t find it difficult to keep up with the pace of the story. The language is easy to comprehend and there would be no difficulty in understanding the various plotting in the novel.

Frustration Reloaded is an ordinary account of a CA’s life with an extraordinary element of Frustration embedded in it. Initially Ayushi bears all the different obstacles in her career path as an ordinary CA does. She accepts the fact that the path to the ultimate destination of CA is a difficult one and requires a hell lot of patience. While introspecting herself, she claims that the only word that best describes her is ‘Frustration’ as the amount of frustration keeps on reloading in her life after every attempt she took to clear CA finals, and after every interview in which she was rejected.

The 216 page book comprises of 23 chapters. The story is quite meaningful and the main reason that I loved this book is the sheer realism used in it. Every situation, every mood, every word is described with reality. Everything is presented as it is without any exaggerations or superficialities.

Like the back cover says, this book is for everyone who is frustrated with studies, job, interviews and finding a perfect partner. It will always remind you with the frustration you had faced some time in your past life. If you are also frustrated with your life, read Frustration Reloaded.

However, there are places where the story seems to be a little vague and few grammatical errors can be noticed. But then I guess that is because the novel has not been proofread properly. On the whole, it is a hilarious piece of writings and will make you laugh throughout. It is also one of the main reasons why the readers will feel engaged with the book.

The too many frustrations of Ayushi’s life is just one of the reasons you want to keep turning the pages to find out what happens in Frustration Reloaded. Ayushi gradually learns to keep her frustration on the right track and not waste it.

To find out whether she comes out as a savior or surrenders to her frustrated life, she gets her true love or not, she is able to fight the system or not, she goes for a typical arrange marriage or chooses love; you will have to read the novel, Frustration Reloaded.

The author Ankita Patil chose a very different and interesting subject for her debut novel which is a fact to be appreciated. It is not a love story but a frustrated success story of a CA as well as a frustrated love story.

I recommend this book to all those who have ever faced frustration at any point of their lives. It is very relatable and you will highly enjoy it as it leaves you with a smile at the end. The narration is light hearted and therefore it’s a very quick read. You should pick this book if you have less time and want to read a good book.

You’ll need a distinct style and the ability to imbue your photographs with it to make it as a fashion photographer. Consider working with a photo agency to promote your talents and get your work seen. 

Fine Art - Fine art photographers generally present their photographic images as finished prints for sale. Fine art photography ranges from images of landscapes to surrealistic patterns to everything in between. The artist generally sells his or her work through local or online galleries, at art shows, and from their own studios and websites.  Successful fine art photographers also use reps to promote their work.

Medical/Scientific - Photographers that work in the medical or scientific communities work in research labs, hospitals, and healthcare facilities—and in the field.  They use tools such as cameras, microscopes, video cameras, and specialized equipment designed to capture biomedical images. Specialties include ophthalmic photography, forensic biomedical photography, photomicrography, and dental photography. Since medical photographers frequently work with patients, physicians, and researchers, good people skills are necessary.

Movie Stills - Movie still photographers, work on movie sets, capturing both behind-the-scenes images and photos of the scenes being shot. These images are used for movie promotion, record shots, and other applications. The best way to get into photographing movie stills is to have an outstanding portfolio showing people and their interaction, along with a great personality and the ability to be flexible in your work habits. Think about volunteering to learn the business.

Nature/Environmental - The nature or environmental photographer usually works on location, and may work in conjunction with a researcher, newspaper, or magazine. Knowledge of the natural world is a must for photographers choosing this path, and can include a background in zoology, botany, or other earth and natural sciences. Great patience is required, as well as a love for travel.

Photojournalism - Photojournalists make many of the photographs you see on a daily basis in newspapers, in magazines, and on news and current-events websites. This career can be a rewarding one, and it requires not only photography skills, but also the negotiating skills, knowledge of different cultures, and physical and mental strength. Photojournalists frequently travel and may be away for extended periods of time covering conflicts or working on assignments. The National Press Photographers Association has a national mentoring program for students, which offers an excellent way to work and learn from a professional photojournalist.

Sports - The sports photographer records sporting events as they happen, and must have lightning-fast reflexes, superb timing, knowledge of the sport, and great technical skill with a variety of cameras. Some sports photographers specialize in only one sport, while others photograph many different sports. They travel extensively, work nights and weekends, and typically endure extremes of weather. Sports photographers generally own their camera gear, and work for several magazines or newspapers.

Underwater/Marine - The underwater photographer not only needs excellent technical skills in photography but also must be certified as a diver who can work comfortably in a marine environment. Diving, swimming, and underwater safety skills, combined with a thorough knowledge of marine life, the ocean, and boating, are requirements for this career. Underwater photographers often shoot images for stock photography.

Wedding/Portrait - The wedding or portrait photographer usually works out of a studio, but frequently shoots on location with clients. Capturing the big day for a bride and groom is a daunting responsibility. Wedding photographers need top-notch equipment and the technical knowledge to make it work. Photojournalistic wedding photography has become quite popular, and this is an area you may choose to specialize in. Making portraits of people and families requires great patience, as well as creative flair.

You should and understand that being a successful professional photographer requires a lot of hard work, dedication, and a little bit of luck. The advice I hear most often is don’t bother trying, do it as a hobby. But everyone has a camera these days, and almost anyone can take a solid photo. Put almost any DSLR on auto and point it at something interesting and you’ll probably have a pretty good photo. How do you compete with a million people doing that, especially the ones calling themselves a professional photographer?

Being a professional photographer is really about three things – being very professional, working hard every day, and offering something unique.

Follow these steps if you are serious about your career in photography:

1.      Follow good business practices: Have a professional logo, website, etc.

2.      Actively market yourself

3.      Stop trying to please everyone: Master in only 1-2 areas of specialization.

4.      Click everyday: Practice makes a photographer perfect!

5.      Make sure you have a Plan B: Always keep back-ups of all your pictures.

6.      Be humble, not arrogant: Your photograph might be perfect but you have to re-click if your client wants that!

7.      Call yourself a photographer: Take pride in your skill.

I understand that as an artist you probably detest the thought of having to run a business. Marketing and promoting yourself makes you want to puke. And acting professional when you just want to create art makes your head hurt. I don’t know many artists who enjoy this stuff. But guess what? All the successful ones do it anyway.

Like any successful business, being a professional photographer will require you to spend as much time on the business side of things as the artistic.

The Ultimate Road Trip : Leh

Summers vacations are a perfect time to plan up trips. Road trips are the most exciting options while planning a hangout with friends. As the vacations are still on, its kinda an appropriate time to share the experience of my recent road trip.

I was so excited for this trip since a long time before it began. I researched a lot about this place, our destination, Leh. And what an amazing road trip it turned out to be. The vivid places that we visited are still very fresh in my memory. I can revisit those visions every time I close my eyes. They have been imprinted upon my brain cells permanently.

When all packing was done, I ensured that we carry extra refills of Ambi Pur for our car. It was a necessity and so it proved to be. Along with this, I also made sure we took a lot of water, extra can for fuel, tyre repair kit, air pump, appropriate clothing such as gloves, warm caps, warm scarves, inners, warm socks and sturdy shoes, sleeping bags, a torch and batteries, extra memory card for camera, some food such as cheese, energy bars, chocolates, juices, biscuits, etc. for the drive.

We had booked a car and subsequently, SERIOUS and DETAILED planning for Mission Leh. After several discussions, me and my three friends (2 guys and a girl) were ready to go in one Scorpio. The car was due for delivery in the first week of June and taking into account the running in period of a 1000 kms, we planned the trip for 8th June, 2013. I got the delivery of the beauty on 3rd June, 2013. We were all set for Mission Leh! Years of yearning and planning was finally going to come to fruition on the 8th June, 2013 (0 day)!!

All four of us were so involved with Mission Leh that we would exchange mails every day on what would be the itinerary, what all to carry, how much to carry, what would be the budget; generally excitement levels were at an all time high, work seemed to be the last thing on everyone’s mind and the countdown had begun, with each passing day bringing us closer to our departure on one of the greatest road trips! After a few iterations our plan was finalised as follows:

08/6 – Leave in the evening for Chandigarh from Delhi
09/6 – Chandigarh to Manali
10/6 – Manali to Tandi
11/6 – Tandi to Sarchu
12/6 – Sarchu to Leh
13/6 – Leh
14/6 – Leh to Pangong
15/6 – Pangong to Leh
16/6 – Leh to Nubra
17/6 – Nubra to Leh
18/6 – Leh to Llayamuru and back
19/6 – Leh to TsoMoriri
20/6 – TsoMoriri to Tandi
21/6 – Tandi to Manali
22/6 – Manali to Delhi

So this was the 15-day plan that we had charted out for ourselves to successfully accomplish Mission Leh. We had on purpose kept the schedule spread out so we would not be rushed at any time. Then began our shopping for the items mentioned above which we took on the trip with us; warm clothes, gloves, body warmers for us and, towing line, tyre repair kit etc. and most importantly a lot of refills of Ambi Pur Air freshener for the Scorpio. As time for us to leave came nearer, things were looking upbeat, preparations were almost done and we were rearing to go, except for the small issue of it raining non-stop and beyond season in HP...

We left for Chandigarh on 08/06 at about 5.30 pm. That day it was POURING in Delhi and for those familiar with Delhi, near the new elevated road from just before Rajghat to ISBT, the ring road was under about a foot of water and cars were finding it difficult to pass through. It was a really depressing and demotivating sight for the four of us; our journey had not even begun and it seemed the rain Gods had decided to ruin our party for us. Nonetheless, with a prayer on our lips we set out upon Mission Leh!

As we moved out of Delhi, the rain started to subside and in about an hour’s time there was no rain at all. As the roads began to dry so did our spirits and we began believing that yes, we can do this and that the weather Gods may finally have cast a favourable eye upon us. Though now when I see the condition of Uttrakhand, I shiver!

So, stopping on our way a couple of times for food and drinks, we finally reached Himachal Bhawan in Chandigarh at about 11 pm on 0 day, 08/06. Ambi Pur proved as blessing keeping the air inside the car fresh for us to breath properly. We checked in and hit the sack by midnight.

Day 5 (13/06) – Leh City – 0 kms – whole day

Finally we opened our eyes in Leh City. We were happy and excited for more fun that was about to come our way. At 10am, we first went to Thiksay monastery, then the Hemis monastery and then finally to the Shey palace. These are all wonderful places and if one is to really contemplate and think back in time, there is so much history attached to these monuments. Long hours inside the car, were not suffocating thanks to Ambi Pur.

We finished our city tour by lunch time and then went back to the hotel, washed up and went walking to the market, which is right next door, for lunch. There were a few places we wanted to explore for food, and settled for Tibetan Kitchen for that day.

At about 6.30 pm, with the help of a guide, we reached the outskirts of the city, where we parked the car along the road. We then proceeded from the road to the river, for which we had to cross this stretch of thorny Leh Berry bushes, which seem to line the river bank everywhere. So, after about 5 minutes of walking through bushes, we emerged onto the bank of the Indus! There, the four of us, and the guide, spent a nice two hours talking and gazing at the mountains. From where we were we could see Stok Kangri, the highest peak in Ladakh. It is at about 19,000 ft and there are treks that go there. Stanzin told us how he had done this trek with a few friends and being a local, even he found it extremely touch going. That evening was special because we were in close vicinity of the Indus and the Himalayas at the same time! It is really awe inspiring to be amongst such legends. Simple living, simple people, one amazing place!

This is how we lived a dream in 2 weeks. Being back in Delhi made all the things we did in Ladakh and the places we went to seem like a dream; it was like we had just come out of a really engrossing movie. But no, it was no movie, we had finally accomplished Mission Leh!!

In the end, All I would like to say is that please DO go to Ladakh, it is a Wonderland and you can be Alice. You would see places the likes of which exist nowhere else on the planet. You would experience the warm hospitality of the Ladakhi people and you would have an experience that you WOULD never forget and will cherish forever.

Driving is the real way to go, but if you want to fly, then do that, it would still be a lot of fun. Driving is a bit dangerous, but so is crossing the road. Be well prepared, research well, plan ahead, book ahead (if with families and if looking for some comfort) plus don't forget to carry Ambi Pur (it made the long hours we spent in the car refreshing and bearable) in excess with you and keep a couple of days spare just in case and you should be fine.

Go and DO MAKE THIS trip, else regret and down the line wonder, what if...

Endless Wait

I keep turning pages as I sit in vain,
Sometimes I walk alone through the lane.
Memories haunt and they turn me restless,
And all of a sudden I feel worthless.

It happens every single time,
The same story, the same rhyme.
I am so tired of living the same dread,
It makes me go almost dead.

Its like a blackout, no hope at all,
All my words are but a drawl.
There's something missing in my life,
I guess its happiness for which my heart thrive.



I keep waiting endlessly at a corner,
But I never hear your voice or even a whisper.
I keep waiting for the answer to my questions,
Or may be just some suggestions.

I miss you or I miss myself more,
You love me? I'm not sure.
Your absence kill me each day,
Still I wait for you and I pray.

This distance between us makes me cry,
I just want to smile now, I won't lie.
This vainness is turning me insane,
The sheer loneliness lands me in immense pain.

The shadows from the past engulf me,
Resurrecting silence is not letting me flee.
Everything has turned so harsh and bone-chilling,
Am walking in your quest and struggling.

This wait is quite challenging; for me, for you,
Its like an unsolved mystery, with no clue.

Dowry Deaths: My Take

Recently I came across an incident that touched me to the core of my heart. I could feel goosebumps as I continued to read this diary. Sweety's Diary The last diary entry left me numb. Dowry system was abolished centuries ago; then why should women continue to suffer till date? What shocks me more is the fact that dowry is demanded by the educated people, which is a sheer shameful act in itself. Are we forever going to suffer from this? Is this ridiculous 'dowry demanding' never going to stop? I know this diary raises some very important mind-boggling questions...but who is going to answer them? What is the government actually doing in this concern? How long will women be subjected to suffer from this wrath of dowry? After God, women are the creators of this world...It is she who gives birth to men and women alike...then why should the dowry be demanded from her? Why should it be a curse to be a daughter's parents? In India, where a daughter is given so many names like saraswati, laxmi, etc. why is this system still prevalent? Why are we as individuals so helpless when it comes to dowry? Those who demand this dowry are the very people sitting among us; can't we stop them from doing this harsh act? Can't we stop them from keeping such irrational demands? Today, I pledge that I will be forever fighting against this dowry system...till my last breath...so are you with me? Or are you just going to sit back and go with the flow? Your one choice can make you a human and another a devil...choice is yours! Come forward and join hands to fight against this cruel and prejudiced system of dowry...Save your daughters, sisters, wives, mothers...from this wrath!
I would make sure that no dowry comes into play when I marry! Can you do the same?

The short story Karma is a Bitch is beautifully penned down by the writer, Rafaa Dalvi. It’s a true integral part of the book Kaleidoscope, which is a collection of 25 different spellbinding stories.

The story begins at a very fast pace. The writer, Rafaa Dalvi has proven to have a very intellectual approach while writing this plot. In addition, the writer has a considerably good grasp on language, which is used well to create such a magnificent story which will leave a deep impact on the readers.

The descriptions of the hotel room, the scenes, and other details are elaborated well with quite proficiency and an excellent flow of words and emotions has been maintained throughout the story line. The writer has shown his potential as a movie script writer as the flow of this story actually makes you believe as if you are either watching a movie or hearing its story from a friend.

The central character is chosen well and cleverly described. Besides a real character and the mother who remains in the background as she had died already, there is a supernatural character too. Every scene is written quite dramatically, without disrupting the overall aura of the write-up.

The mingling of real and surreal elements has been done in an articulating manner. Readers can connect well and will not feel bored or lose interest at any point. It is a combination of some powerful elements but still very comprehensive. In my view will keep the readers engaged till the very end and they will want more of such breath-taking stories from this writer.

I personally loved the story as it has an element of thrill and passion, combined with the concept of Karma. You wouldn’t want this story to end and that’s the best part of it. I have read few more stories from the same writer, so I can safely recommend you all to read this story and many more. He will keep stunning you with his creativity in writings. The Goa trip was my birthday present but even after you cheated I still spent on you. I aborted our baby when it hurt me deeply. You destroyed my Christmas and my birthday dinner when I came back. When I tried my hardest to make your birthday special. You chose to be away from me on Valentines Day. You promised me once we made it to one year we would get engaged. When I would cry for you. I have nothing left in this world to live for after this. I wish you had loved me like I loved you. I dreamt of our future. I dreamt of our success. Jiah Khan was thus a hopeless romantic. She gave up everything for one single person who betrayed her all the time. Finally she gave up her life without caring about her family or anything else. How many such suicides take place around us? A lot more than you can even count!

I have just one thing to say on this sad incident that we girls should love ourselves more often and when some heartless guys break our heart, we should learn to take a stand for ourselves rather than giving into their demands and losing ourselves completely for a person who doesn't even care. Life is precious. You should not give it away for a bad ass. 

Suicide is never a solution. You leave so many things and people behind you just to escape from a single person. Instead you should be firm and face that person with a positive mind set and move on. Fight the situation, don't run away from it. If someone breaks your heart or destroys you, talk to someone else, may be seek a counsellor, but don't commit suicide. Pain will slowly go away and will be replaced by happiness. But suicide can never be undone! So just hold on to life and keep hoping for a better tomorrow. Have faith in yourself! Be strong. Cheers to life!

And it turned out to be just Perfect!
All illusion and reality was getting mixed,
Faster than the wind, I was so transfixed.

A magic spell was casted on us,
You took away all my distress.
We had wine, we were so drunk,
With you, I was so full of spunk.

You took me by hand,

Before I could comprehend.
We roamed on the streets, so carefree,
I was on a romantic spree.

In a café, you told me I looked pretty,
When in reality, I was looking a mess!
You were the prince,
I was just your damsel in distress.



And then you kissed me,
I felt so complete.
You smiled at me,
The world seemed beautiful.

Time slowed down for a while,
You gave me such a cute smile.

Everyone around looked at us in awe,
"Oh they look perfect together!"

You gave me a box to open,
Inside was the sweetest gift.
Chocolates, jewels, and something more,
You told me to explore!

I looked at the mirror,
Trying to get the drift.
And you remarked,
I could not think of a better gift.

I was still confused, thinking hard,
And then you made me see.
"I gifted you a beautiful princess,
The one you can see in the mirror!"

You left me enchanted,
Made me lose control.
Held me tightly, and I felt comfortable,
And my love story had just begun!

Alive Inside : A Short Story Review

The short story Alive Inside is well written by Debutant writer, Nehali Lalwani. It’s a true integral part of the book Kaleidoscope, which is a collection of 25 different spellbinding stories.

Set in a village, the story begins on an interesting note. The writer has a good grasp on language and uses it well to create such a beautiful story which will leave an ever lasting impact on the readers.

The descriptions of rain, the guest house, and other surroundings are picturesquely elaborated and an excellent flow of words and emotions has been maintained throughout. The writer has actually painted pictures with her words.

The characters are chosen well and cleverly woven into the story. They are not sounding out of the world kind of characters, but are very relatable. Change of scenes is done quite intelligently, without disrupting the overall flow of the story.

In the beginning, I felt the story has realistic elements but by the time I reached the ending, I had different opinions. It has therefore a very unpredictable end, which in my view will keep the readers engaged as they will realise the use of metaphysical elements by the end of this breath-taking story.

I personally loved the story as it has a different genre, instead of the common genres these days, like romance. Its ending actually makes you say ‘wow’. Also, for a debut writer this story is quite unexpected as it is very challenging. Kudos to the writer! Ms. Newbie, You have a brand new fan here. I'm waiting for many more stories from your side.
