The Three Wise Monkeys is a novel by Jeet Gian. It is published by Leadstart Publishing Pvt. Ltd. The cover seems quite unusual with a pinch of evil and humour at first glance! The three wise monkeys remind us of Gandhiji but woah! after reading this book you will get a new perspective.

Jeet Gian was a happening person till he became a chartered accountant (and got married). He was born and brought up in Kutch (Motto: Nobody knows where it is) before permanently and successfully settling (after marriage) in Dubai. His present dream is to become the President of India and continue his writing passion full time without tensions and work at Rashtrapati Bhavan (Motto: We deliver best ISO-certified awards), New Delhi!
He is a great communicator and is on good terms with clients, media, and almost everyone around him, except his in-laws. He has been interviewed by Dubai TV, Zee TV-Gulf Pulse, CNN Arabia, Radio 103.8, and on many occasions by his mother-in-law! Divya, his life and business partner (only in profit), is also a chartered accountant. Both are blessed with two kids: a daughter, Falguni, and a special-needs son, Krishna. For Divya, children come first; the rest of the world is just Tom, Dick, and Jeet. He is up by 5 am, even if holidaying on Star Cruise, and is a fitness buff. Plus, he eats once every two hours, just like how babies do.

The story is about three wise monkeys (pun intended) – Amar, Akbar and Anthony, who are struggling Chartered Accountants. The author has kept it clear that these three boys are simpleton who have no idea about what is going on around them. Their careers are shaky and so are their struggles. Their beautiful girlfriends – Meghna, Farah and Sarah make their life trickier. So their love lives also fail to provide any respite.

In the midst of all this, because of some corrupt client they are drawn into trouble. Thus the entire plot is built around how we all live in a world full of deceit where innocence is soon dying out. Tricks and double crossing is what you have to face everywhere. And the author has done a commendable job with instilling humour in the plot.

The language is simple and easy to comprehend. The subject is tackled intricately by the skillful author. I especially enjoyed how corruption and politics are exposed with a pinch of salt and humour. The comic part stands out throughout the book.

How Amar, Akbar and Anthony are tricked by their own girlfriends, how some clients double cross them and put them in trouble, do they come clean in the end or go down the drain, are they able to keep their innocent selves intact or let corruption take the better of them are some of the many reasons why you will keep turning the pages to find out what happens in The Three Wise Monkeys.

Further, this 400-page book is good enough to expose the corruption at the level of Indian Politics. It’s a light read and overall a compelling book. Much recommended for readers who are bored of the usual rom-coms.
