Tea Stories with Tea Treasure - Healthy Treasure in a Cup!

Off late, my health is deteriorating, all thanks to the tight schedule that I have! I often sleep late and wake up early and spend more than half of my day in front of the laptop screen. Naturally, this has finally taken a toll on my immunity and I keep falling sick almost every day. Because I don’t get plenty of rest even after falling sick, so I never get fully recovered. All this obviously impacts the work performance and then everything keeps moving in the downward direction. Thus, our health is something that we should never neglect.

(Are you a foodie like me? Check out this: https://www.village-bakery.com/)

I was tired of being sick every day so I tried a lot of green teas (of so many brands) and things like that which are said to have a lot of benefits. However, nothing gave a long-term relief. I then shifted to chamomile teas, which are really good for cold, cough and allergies from pollen grains. It’s still my most preferred tea.

Octavius Green Tea—The Magical Cup of Health!

I was always found gymming or pampering myself in a spa before being stuck in a 9 to 5 job. It has been over a year now since that has stopped. But the fitness freak in me could not be at rest for long. So I switched to green tea as a regime a few months back. I have tried a lot of brands and flavours. Some were a bad experience, some were good, but few were to be continued…
Octavius Green Tea came as a delight at my doorsteps. When I removed the packaging and saw the yellow can, my heart skipped a beat. It was love at first sight. I was so amazed by just the packaging that my expectations with the flavour and aroma increased manifold.

Leading A Hassle-Free and Healthy Life

Health – a word of five letters, and yet it is often seen struggling with a four-letter word, that is, ‘life’.
Life often gets in the way of good health; in the moments when we want to gobble the junk food available in tempting packages, when we neglect our sleep to earn few extra bucks, when we callously plug in earphones and hear loud music at parties, and even when we neglect hygiene and brushing teeth properly.

In our day to day life, we thus tend to mess up our health. Some of our habits and prolonged ignorance towards health care, can also lead to such diseases which are incurable or may cause lasting damage to our body system.

Then should we stop living life? No! We can live a healthy life even while living each moment and enjoying the sinful indulgence. How?

To start with, visiting hospitals for regular heath check-ups is highly advisable.

Supplementing bad with good is equally crucial; if you have hogged on to street food for evening snacks, make sure you keep the dinner light and choose a healthy menu. A well-cooked bowl of oats can be a good option here.

Diet is an important factor that controls our health. Mindful eating is the key to a good health. Try to avoid unhealthy food options as much as possible. Once in a while, if you do indulge in such food items, make sure that you always compensate for the junk that you put in your body. Incorporate regular exercise in your routine. Take stairs instead of elevators whenever possible. Drink a lot of water to avoid dehydration. Include a serving of fresh fruits in your breakfast to stay active through the day and enhance your body immunity. Morning or evening walks and keeping stress away can bring about a lot of difference in our life. These small little steps can take you a long way!

With technology blooming at a fast pace, advancement in health care is visible too. Leading a healthy life is now just a phone call away. Yes, now people can easily call and have doctors and nurses coming to their homes to treat them and take care of them. Home care is a convenient option for those who can’t go for regular check-ups because of some serious ailments.

Now, with a little care and awareness, we can be healthy and don’t have to compromise on living our life the way we want.

Happy Stretching!! Happy Yoga Day!! :)

So, one thing that is trending everywhere and gripping the attention across the country is the International Yoga Day. Finally, after eons, we have a thing that has united us in all our spirits. Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness. Today, it is practiced in various forms around the world and continues to grow in popularity. Recognizing its universal appeal, on 11 December 2014, the United Nations proclaimed 21 June as International Yoga Day by resolution 69/131. International Yoga Day aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga.

'International Yoga Day' is one of the best things that has happened to humanity in recent times. It has given us a 'food for thought'. No real transformation can happen in one day but a day is enough to bring awareness about the ancient technology that had long been forgotten. Yoga is much more than a system of exercises. It’s a recipe for peace. It is a path to transformation of the self, something that has the solution to all the problems. It is after all an ancient secret of beauty, both internal and external. Yoga is an inspiration, a self-realization. It de-stresses you and holds the key to the ultimate happiness.

With few cities already having events like 'Rahgiri', which was introduced as a new kind of experience. City dwellers can reach here and indulge in all sorts of recreational activities to keep themselves healthy and happy. Rahgiri has special activities for kids too. Activities such as scatting, cycling, gully cricket, painting, rangoli, volleyball, lemon race, tug of war, aerobics, guitar playing, other musical programs and cultural programs are organised in this event. In Delhi, Rahgiri is organised every Sunday at CP (inner circle) during early morning hours (starting as early as 6:30AM).

International Yoga Day has managed to rekindle the interest of the masses towards a healthy lifestyle and has given an encouragement to bring back the zeal that was lost in the race of life. It has also ensured that people finally step out and embrace nature and see what they usually let go unnoticed. Often, we pass through beautiful gardens while on way to our work place but we can't find time to step out and breathe with open arms, International Yoga Day has finally given us an avenue to unleash our desires. It's almost like serving the old wine in a new bottle.

Happy Stretching!! Happy Yoga Day!! :)

Breakfast worries resolved :)

A healthy breakfast is a must to start your day with great vigour. It should not be skipped even when you are running late. But we don't always have many delicious options when it comes to daily breakfast. Repeating the same age old menus adds to the boredom and thus we tend to not enjoy the meal. And with small kids this comes across as the biggest worry - "What's for the breakfast?"

While I enjoy eating street food and anything that is delicious, but the tension of gaining weight keeps me worried all the time. For the past few months, I am keeping a strict check on my weight. And for that purpose, I make sure my breakfast is diet-friendly and offers all the nutrients in as tasty form as possible. Colors play an important role too. The food should be welcoming! I like my food to be colorful because the more vibrant the food is, the more willing you are to eat it. Nothing’s better than food that’s a treat to both your eyes and mouth simultaneously. I believe that it is with the eyes that you first decide whether to taste that meal or not. If you see the same food looking different every day, the keenness to explore its taste manifolds and you end up with a happy and filled stomach.

Kellogg's Waale Guptaji ka Nashta has recently inspired me to experiment with my own breakfast recipes. They have over a 100 mouth-watering recipes in their kitty, no wonder everybody want an invitation for breakfast at their house. Being a foodie, it was very difficult decision for me to give up on the regular fattening meals and switch to bland salads and plain vegetables and fruits.

Then, I decided to treat myself with Kellogg's Cornflakes. But not just cornflakes, I added chocolate and walnut to it to make it lip smacking! And that's not all... The next day I changed it completely by adding bananas and strawberries to it. Taste and health together in a bowl, what can be more delightful? After a long workday, I often want to eat light and take rest as heavy meals can make you feel more lethargic and adds unnecessary calories. I prefer adding few veggies and fruits to the bowl of cornflakes and enjoy it while sipping a cup of green tea. At times, I add honey to sweeten it. It is refreshing as well as a healthy option.

It's a meal that every age group can customize to match their taste buds and relish. Also, it's easy and quick to make, not letting you skip on your breakfast even when you are in a hurry to get to your work.

So, are you guys ready to experiment and lavish on a bowl full of health and happiness? Check out the awesome blossom recipes here :)
